For landlords who use an agent to find tenants
Your agent found the tenant. The legal dates are still yours.
The gas safety check, the electrical report and the new register stay your legal duties after move-in. An agent can do the work for you. Datestone keeps their dates in one place and reminds you before each date.

What Datestone does for you
Gas and electrical reminders
Each certificate's date, and an email before it runs out.
Rent increases, worked out
Section 13 with the earliest valid date, and Form 4A filled in.
Repairs that close
The tenant reports it on your page; a contractor you offer it to opens the email's link and presses Yes or No.
Rent and arrears
What came in, what's owed, month by month.
The register, by region
Your home's date to register, from 15 December 2026 in the West Midlands, then region by region.

The dates come from regulations that are still a draft, not yet made, so they could still move.
Questions
If my agent found the tenant, who does the gas safety check?
The duty is yours. The check itself is done by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If your agreement gives the agent the job of arranging it, HSE says the agent has the same duties too, and strongly advises you to ask to see copies of the safety check.

The gas safety guideDo I still need Datestone if my agent sends me reminders?
Your agent's reminders cover what your agreement asks of them. Datestone keeps the dates it tracks for the home in one place, whoever does the work, each with its official source, and emails you before each one.
Can I give my agent access?
Yes. Invite them to run things day to day, or as someone who can see everything and change nothing.
Does it cost more for more homes?
One home is free. Up to 5 homes is £4.99 a month, up to 20 homes is £14.99 a month, inc VAT. Your first paid plan starts with a 30-day free trial.
